If you’re planning a short trip to London and want to make the most of your time, here’s how we explored the best of the city in just three days.
Day 1: History & Classic London Sights
Our adventure began as we arrived at St. Pancras station via the Eurostar from Lille, France. After checking in at the citizenM Tower of London Hotel—which offers modern comfort and breathtaking views of the city—we indulged in traditional fish and chips at The Hung Drawn & Quartered for late lunch. This cozy restaurant is just a short walk from our hotel.

After refueling, we set out to explore one of London’s most iconic landmarks: the Tower of London. Wandering through centuries of history and marveling at the Crown Jewels collection was a surreal experience. Afterwards, we took a scenic walk across the Tower Bridge and back, soaking in panoramic views of the Thames River and the city skyline.
Tip: Arrive at the Tower of London early to avoid crowds and give yourself time to fully explore its fascinating history.

Day 2: Iconic Landmarks and Local Flavors
We kicked off our second day with a trip to Borough Market—a bustling haven for food lovers. Whether you’re craving a pastry, fresh produce, or international street food, this market is sure to satisfy.

After a light morning snack, we headed to the majestic St. Paul’s Cathedral, where the towering dome and serene churchyard offered a moment of tranquility in the heart of the city.

For breakfast, we treated ourselves to an unforgettable meal at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant at The Savoy, a luxurious dining experience with a modern twist on British classics.

Our day continued with a walk around Paternoster Square before watching the Royal Horseguards Parade in Whitehall—one of London’s ceremonial traditions.

The afternoon was filled with iconic sights: Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The London Eye, and the Palace of Westminster, all within easy walking distance of each other.

We capped off the day with a visit to Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial, then ventured to Kensington Palace and the Princess Diana Memorial Garden.

Tip: Take a stroll through St. James’s Park to escape the city buzz and enjoy views of Buckingham Palace from across the lake.

For a touch of luxury, we ended our day with some shopping at the famous Harrods department store.

Day 3: A Bittersweet Farewell
On our final morning, we enjoyed a relaxing breakfast at the hotel, soaking in the last views of London before checking out. A private transfer whisked us away to London Heathrow Airport for our return flight to Montreal, filled with memories of London’s vibrant history, culture, and charm.

Final Tip: Don’t overpack your itinerary. Give yourself time to soak in the city’s atmosphere, whether it’s enjoying a leisurely walk along the Thames or sipping afternoon tea in a cozy café.
London’s blend of the traditional and modern makes it an unforgettable destination. With just three days, we were able to experience its highlights and hidden gems, making the trip one for the books.
