There’s something magical about a coastal city that perfectly blends history, culture, and relaxation. Split’s Riva, the city’s lively waterfront promenade, does just that. With its palm-lined walkways, beautiful Adriatic views, and vibrant energy, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to soak up the best of Croatia.
The moment we stepped onto the Riva, we felt its charm. The sea breeze, the gentle sound of waves, and the hum of people enjoying the day made it impossible not to feel at ease. Lined with cafés, gelato stands, and shops, it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a bite to eat.

We decided to have lunch at Twins, a cozy restaurant right on the promenade. The black seafood risotto that I ordered was flavorful, and the view of the sea made it even better.

The surprise? After our meal, I discovered that the restaurants is owned by a fellow Filipina! She was working as a chef in luxury hotels and cruise ships before opening Twins in Split. It made the experience even more special—like finding a bit of home in the heart of Croatia.

After lunch, we took a walk along the Riva, soaking in the sights and sounds one last time. From our table, we had a perfect view of our cruise ship docked in the distance, framed by the sparkling Adriatic. It was one of those moments you want to freeze in time. The atmosphere was vibrant yet peaceful.

Split’s Riva is an experience—a wonderful one. Whether you’re savoring a meal, people-watching, or just enjoying the sea breeze, the Riva has a way of lingering in your memory long after you’ve left.

If you find yourself in Split, make time for the Riva. And if you stumble upon Twins, grab a seat, enjoy the food and create lasting memories.
