A Cozy Weekend Getaway to Mont-Tremblant, Quebec (Our Easy, No-Stress Itinerary)

3–4 minutes

You know that feeling when the week has been a lot and suddenly you’re craving mountains, fresh air, and somewhere that doesn’t involve traffic or meetings? Yeah—that was us.

We left Downtown Montreal on a crisp Friday afternoon, pointed the car north, and about an hour and a half later, we were in Mont-Tremblant. Just far enough to feel like a real escape, but close enough that you don’t need a vacation after your vacation.

If you’re planning a Mont-Tremblant weekend getaway and want something relaxed, scenic, and food-filled (without overplanning), here’s exactly how we spent three easy, lovely days.

Day 1: Arrival, Mountain Air & First Impressions

There’s something about arriving in Mont-Tremblant just before sunset—it instantly slows you down.

After checking into the Fairmont Tremblant (which honestly feels like it was dropped right into the village on purpose), we went for a casual wander through the pedestrian village. Colorful buildings, that cool mountain air, a bit of live music drifting from patios… city stress? Gone.

For dinner, we kept things fun and unfussy at Le Shack Resto-Bar, right in the heart of the village. We ordered the mixed grill platter—BBQ chicken, back ribs, smoked meat brisket—and shared everything. Exactly what you want after a drive: comforting, smoky, and satisfying.

Little tip: Try to arrive before sunset. The golden-hour glow over the village is beautiful, and it’s the perfect time for a quick terrace drink before dinner.

Day 2: Village Wandering & Mountain Views

A proper Mont-Tremblant weekend starts with a good breakfast, and La Maison de la Crêpe totally delivered. Sweet or savory, you can’t go wrong—this is one of those places that instantly puts you in a good mood.

After breakfast, we leaned into slow exploring. The village feels straight out of a storybook, and hopping on Le Cabriolet (the open-air gondola) is a fun, easy way to see everything from above without much effort.

The big highlight? The cable car ride to the summit. The views are incredible year-round, but if you’re there in fall, the foliage is next-level beautiful—reds, golds, and oranges as far as you can see.

We kept lunch light back at the Fairmont with poolside snacks, then headed to Mini-Golf Le Petit Géant. It’s way more fun (and sneakily competitive) than it looks and perfect if you want something playful without committing to a full adventure.

Dinner that night was at Choux Gras Brasserie Culinaire, inside the Fairmont. We shared the grilled seafood platter—octopus, scallops, halibut, shrimp, veggies—and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. A great “treat yourself” meal without feeling too formal.

Insider tip: Book Choux Gras ahead, especially on weekends. It fills up fast.

Day 3: Cold Air, Warm Water & One Last Meal

We woke up early on our last day for one final Mont-Tremblant moment—and it might have been my favorite.

The heated outdoor pool was calling, even though it was about 13°C outside. Floating in warm water with cool air and mountain views? Absolute magic. Slightly surreal. 100% worth it.

Before checking out, we grabbed breakfast at Le Comptoir, also inside the Fairmont. Cozy, easy, and exactly what you want before packing up—fresh pastries, eggs, and a calm start to the drive home.

And then… the part no one loves. Bags packed, one last look at the mountains, and back to real life.

Why Mont-Tremblant Is Such a Great Weekend Escape

What I love most about Mont-Tremblant is how easy it is to relax here. You don’t have to rush or over-schedule anything.

A few reasons it’s such a perfect short trip:

  • Only 1.5 hours from Montreal
  • A great mix of relaxation and light adventure
  • Gorgeous in every season—skiing in winter, hiking in summer, fall foliage is unreal
  • A charming pedestrian village that feels almost European

Whether you’re strolling with a coffee, riding the gondola, or just sitting by the pool with the mountains in front of you, Mont-Tremblant has this way of reminding you to slow down.

If you’re looking for a simple, cozy Mont-Tremblant itinerary that balances good food, scenic views, and just enough activity, this weekend plan hits that sweet spot. Sometimes, a couple of days in the mountains is all you really need.
