Sorana Island Villas Review: A Calm, Beachfront Hideaway in Bantayan Island

3–5 minutes

You know that feeling when you arrive somewhere and your shoulders just… drop? Like your body finally gets the memo that it’s allowed to relax?

That’s exactly what happened the moment we arrived at Sorana Island Villas in Bantayan Island.

If you’re looking for a quiet beachfront resort in Bantayan Island—something peaceful, uncrowded, family-friendly, and perfect for slowing down—this is a very honest, real-life take on what it’s like to stay at Sorana Island Villas, straight from our own family trip.

The Story Behind Sorana Island Villas

Sorana Island Villas doesn’t feel like a typical resort. It feels personal. Intentional.

The name Sorana means “one as beautiful as dawn or a summer sky,” and honestly, that makes so much sense once you’re there. The property sits on the sunrise side of Bantayan Island, and mornings come with soft pastel skies that make you want to pause, sip your coffee slowly, and not check your phone for once.

This isn’t a huge commercial hotel. It’s an 8-bedroom beachfront villa designed for families and groups who want space, privacy, and a calm island rhythm. The owners have deep roots in Bantayan, and you can feel that connection in how the place is run—warm, thoughtful, and never rushed.

It’s the kind of place where shoes are optional, mornings start barefoot on the sand, and no one is in a hurry to do anything.

Our Stay: Four Nights That Went Way Too Fast

We stayed four nights in two rooms: one at Villa Pandanus (Deluxe Suite) and one at Villa Palo Maria (Standard Room)—and leaving was honestly the hardest part.

Our room was just steps from the beach, which meant waking up to ocean views and falling asleep to the sound of waves. Not the loud, crashing kind—just gentle, soothing background noise that puts you to sleep without trying.

The room itself was spacious, super clean, and private—perfect when you’re traveling as a family and don’t want to feel cramped.

Room features included:

  • Air conditioning
  • Private bathroom
  • Desk area
  • Patio with garden views

Nothing over-the-top, and that’s exactly the point. It felt like staying in a really well-designed beach home, not a cookie-cutter hotel room.

Resort Amenities: Simple, Thoughtful, and Relaxing

Sorana Island Villas isn’t about flashy amenities—and honestly, that’s what makes it special.

Instead, you’ll find:

  • Lush tropical gardens
  • Cozy lounge and outdoor seating areas
  • A self-service bar
  • A fully equipped shared kitchen (great for groups!)
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the property
  • Free parking

Everything is set up to encourage shared moments—morning coffee, sunset chats, slow dinners. It feels homey, not commercial.

Food & Dining: Easy, Personal, and Home-Style

There’s no full restaurant on-site, but breakfast is served daily, either à la carte or Asian-style. Our stay included breakfast, and it never felt rushed or impersonal.

The staff were incredibly attentive, and meals felt… cared for.

You also have options:

  • Ask the staff to cook meals for you
  • Buy groceries and use the shared kitchen
  • Use the barbecue area for laid-back family dinners

Tip: If you’re traveling with a big group, this setup is super convenient and budget-friendly.

Beachfront Living & Sunrise Views

One of Sorana’s biggest highlights is its direct beachfront access.

It sits along a long stretch of white sand shared with places like Santa Fe Beach Club and Anika Beach Resort—but Sorana feels noticeably quieter and more private.

And the sunrise? Wow.
If you’re even thinking about becoming a morning person, this place might convince you.

Location & Getting There

Our booking included roundtrip van transfers from Santa Fe Port, which made everything smooth—especially with kids and luggage.

Nearby spots worth noting:

  • Santa Fe Port – main entry point to Bantayan Island
  • Sugar Beach – about 2 km away
  • Omagieca Obo-ob Mangrove Garden – great stop during a Bantayan land tour

Nearby Restaurants You’ll Want To Try

If you feel like eating out, you’re close to some of the best spots in Santa Fe:

  • Bantayan Burrito Company – casual and always popular
  • Anika Island Resort Restaurant – fresh seafood and Filipino dishes
  • MJ Square – a food hub with lots of choices

Everything is just a short ride away.

So… Is Sorana Island Villas Worth It?

Short answer? Yes.

We stayed with my husband and our two daughters, and the experience was genuinely lovely. Peaceful, warm, and exactly what we needed.

Our Rating

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

The only thing my kids kept wishing for? A swimming pool.
Good news though—the staff mentioned one is planned for the future. Once that happens, this place will be even more perfect for families.

If you’re wondering where to stay in Bantayan Island and want a calm, beachfront escape that feels real—not touristy—Sorana Island Villas is absolutely worth considering.
